Tour Plan
You will be greeted at the Cairo International Airport arrivals hall by an 'Magic Egypt Tour' representative. After helping you navigate arrival formalities and collect your luggage, our team will provide porter assistance and accompany you to your private, air-conditioned car.
Transfer to Kempinski Nile Hotel (or similar) for check-in. Guest relations assistance remains available throughout your stay.
Start your day with breakfast at your hotel in Cairo before meeting your Egyptologist guide in the hotel lobby.
You will then travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to the Giza Plateau to begin your exploration of one of Egypt’s most iconic archaeological sites.
Begin with the Great Pyramids of Giza, the monumental tombs of Pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the largest of the three and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. You will enjoy close exterior views of the pyramids while learning about their construction, religious purpose, and significance during Egypt’s 4th Dynasty.
Continue to the Valley Temple of Khafre, an important part of the Pyramid of Khafre’s funerary complex. Built from massive limestone blocks, the temple was associated with purification and rituals connected with the king’s burial.
You will then visit the Great Sphinx, the famous limestone monument with the body of a lion and the head of a king, traditionally associated with Pharaoh Khafre. From the Sphinx Viewing Area, you will have close exterior views and excellent opportunities for panoramic photographs of the Giza Plateau.
After completing your Giza sightseeing, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant before continuing to the nearby Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
The Grand Egyptian Museum is dedicated to the civilization of ancient Egypt and presents its history through extensive modern galleries. You will explore the museum with your guide, viewing monumental statues, royal treasures, and artifacts spanning thousands of years of Egyptian history, including the Tutankhamun Galleries.
After completing your museum visit, transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle back to your hotel in Cairo.
Complimentary bottled water will be provided throughout the day.
Helpful Hint: Wear comfortable walking shoes and keep your camera, sunglasses, and sunscreen easily accessible during the outdoor sightseeing.
After breakfast, you will meet your Egyptologist guide and travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Old Cairo, one of the city’s most historically significant districts, where Islamic, Christian, and Jewish heritage can be experienced within a relatively compact area.
Begin with the Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church), one of Egypt’s oldest and most important Coptic churches. Built above the remains of an earlier Roman fortress structure, the church is known for its wooden interior, religious icons, and distinctive suspended appearance.
Continue to the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga), one of Cairo’s oldest Coptic churches. It is traditionally associated with the Holy Family’s journey through Egypt, and its historic crypt is an important feature of the church.
Next, visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of Cairo’s historic Jewish religious sites. The present structure dates largely to the 19th century, and the site is especially known for its connection to the Cairo Geniza, an important collection of historical Jewish manuscripts discovered there.
After completing your Old Cairo visits, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant.
Following lunch, continue to the Saladin Citadel, a medieval fortress built by Salah Al-Din (Saladin) in the 12th century to strengthen Cairo’s defenses. Located on a prominent hill, the Citadel offers impressive panoramic views across Cairo and houses several historic monuments.
Within the Citadel, visit the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, built in the 19th century during the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha. The mosque is famous for its grand Ottoman-inspired architecture, large central dome, elegant minarets, and elevated position overlooking Cairo.
Conclude your sightseeing at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, Cairo’s historic traditional market district. Wander through its narrow lanes filled with shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, jewelry, spices, and traditional Egyptian goods while experiencing the lively atmosphere of historic Cairo.
After completing your visit, transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle back to your hotel.
Helpful Hint: Wear comfortable walking shoes, as today includes several historic sites with uneven surfaces and walking through the narrow lanes of Khan El Khalili.
After breakfast, you will meet your representative and transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan.
Upon arrival in Aswan, you will meet your Egyptologist guide and travel to the Nile waterfront, where you will board a motorboat to Philae Island.
Philae Temple
Set on a picturesque island in the Nile, the Philae Temple complex is one of Upper Egypt’s most important ancient monuments. Dedicated primarily to the goddess Isis, the complex is renowned for its elegant temples, columns, and beautifully preserved reliefs. You will explore the main monuments of the island before returning by motorboat to the mainland.
After the visit, continue by private air-conditioned vehicle to the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s most significant modern engineering projects. Completed in the 20th century, the dam transformed Egypt’s management of the Nile and created the vast Lake Nasser behind it.
Following your visit, continue to the Nile Cruise dock for embarkation.
You will board your Nile Cruise, where porterage assistance will be available with your luggage. Complete the embarkation formalities and check into your cabin before enjoying lunch onboard.
Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing onboard and enjoying the cruise facilities.
Dinner will be served onboard, followed by a relaxing evening on the Nile.
Helpful Hint: Keep sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes with you for today's sightseeing in Aswan.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a relaxing morning onboard the Nile Cruise as the ship sails along the Nile toward Edfu.
Upon arrival in Edfu, you will disembark with your Egyptologist guide and travel to Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Built during the Ptolemaic period and dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god, the temple is renowned for its monumental entrance, massive columns, detailed reliefs, and well-preserved inscriptions.
After completing your visit, you will return to the cruise and reboard before continuing sailing north.
Lunch will be served onboard while the cruise sails toward Kom Ombo.
Upon arrival, you will disembark with your guide to visit Kom Ombo Temple, a unique Ptolemaic temple built directly beside the Nile. The temple is dedicated to two deities, Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, and its unusual symmetrical design reflects this dual dedication. You will explore its courtyards, columns, reliefs, and temple remains overlooking the river.
After completing the visit, return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Luxor.
Dinner will be served onboard during the evening as you relax and enjoy the remainder of your journey along the Nile.
Helpful Hint: Keep a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes with you during today's shore excursions.
After breakfast, you will meet your Egyptologist guide and travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor’s East Bank.
Begin your visit at Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most impressive religious complexes of ancient Egypt. Developed over many centuries, the complex was dedicated primarily to Amun-Ra, the chief deity of ancient Thebes. You will explore its monumental pylons, vast courtyards, towering columns, and beautifully decorated temple areas.
Continue to Luxor Temple, a magnificent New Kingdom temple located in the heart of modern Luxor. Closely connected with the religious and royal traditions of ancient Thebes, the temple is known for its grand entrance, monumental statues, elegant colonnades, and spacious courtyards.
After completing your visits, return by private air-conditioned vehicle to the Nile Cruise for lunch onboard.
Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing on deck and enjoying the cruise facilities while the ship remains docked in Luxor.
Dinner will be served onboard during the evening, followed by a relaxing night on the cruise.
Helpful Hint: Morning sightseeing is ideal for exploring Luxor’s outdoor monuments before the temperatures become warmer.
After breakfast onboard, you will complete the Nile Cruise disembarkation and meet your Egyptologist guide.
Travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor’s West Bank to explore some of the most important monuments of ancient Thebes.
Begin at the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of many New Kingdom pharaohs. Carved into the desert cliffs, the valley contains richly decorated royal tombs featuring colorful scenes, hieroglyphic inscriptions, and depictions connected with ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.
Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, one of Egypt’s most distinctive temple complexes. Built during the 18th Dynasty against the dramatic cliffs, the temple is characterized by its broad terraces, elegant colonnades, and beautifully preserved reliefs depicting scenes from the queen’s reign.
Conclude your West Bank sightseeing with a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Originally standing at the entrance of his vast mortuary temple, the statues remain among Luxor’s most recognizable monuments.
After completing your visits, enjoy lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant before continuing by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor Airport.
